Instant Pot Rice

I always made rice on the stove, but recently I ran out of burners preparing a meal for guests so I tried the Instant Pot. Wow it works great.

How

  1. Measure out rice. 1.1 parts rice to 1 part water works well for Jasmin rice or 1.2 to 1.
  2. Wash rice in instant pod (I usually just do a single rinse to get some starch out), strain, and put back in pot.
  3. Measure out water and add it to pot.
  4. Brush down sides and then turn cook for 3min high pressure (takes longer then 3 min as pot must heat up and build pressure).
  5. When cooking is done turn off Instant Pot and let rest under residual pressure for 10min.
  6. After 10min de-pressure and serve.
